MILAN, March 21 (Reuters) – An Italian court on Tuesday agreed to hand over to U.S authorities a Russian national who has been accused of offences including shipping oil from Venezuela in breach of sanctions.

Judges gave the green light to extradite Uss, who was detained at Milan’s Malpensa aiport on an international arrest warrant last October and is now under house arrest, on charges of violating an embargo against Venezuela and for bank fraud.

The states filing the brief were California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Two decades on from the beginning of the war, with the “shock and awe” assault of March 19, 2003, we are still fathoming the impact of the U.S.-led and U.K.-backed invasion. Whatever relief or joy was felt by Iraqis at the fall of Saddam Hussein´s violent and oppressive regime, it was soon subsumed by the horror of what followed. When the 10th anniversary arrived, Islamic State (IS), birthed by the war´s fallout, had yet to make its frightening rise to establishing a “caliphate”. The body count and wider damage have not stopped rising since. It did not take long for anyone to realize that the Iraq war was the disaster that many had predicted; not much longer than it took to confirm that it was launched on a lie and that there were no weapons of mass destruction.

TAIPEI, March 21 (Reuters) – Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen will transit the United States to and from a visit to Central America on a trip starting at the end of this month, the presidential office said on Tuesday.

Though there is now a government, following a year of deadlock after elections and an outburst of violence in Baghdad, the state remains unable to keep the lights on or provide clean water. Iraq currently appears relatively calm. Politicians and officials have pocketed billions. troops are still present due to the ongoing battle against IS.

The brief from the Caribbean governments, which was joined by a network of non-governmental organizations, follows a summit among regional leaders last month held in the Bahamas, where arms trafficking was a key topic.

After a decade of operating in near-obscurity, lies about ERIC began bubbling up from the fever swamps, such as that George Soros was behind the project and that the initiative is a left-wing plot to add more racial minorities to the voter rolls.

“We strongly believe that now is not the time to consider the opening up of a pathway for Russian and Belarusian athletes to return to the Olympic Games in any status,” the Polish foreign ministry said in a statement issued jointly with Britain, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

prosecutors last year charged Uss and four other Russian citizens with shipping military technologies bought from U.S. manufacturers to Russian buyers, some of which ended up on the battlefield in Ukraine.

The pooling of information has identified more than 11.5 million people who have moved across state lines and over 60 million potential voters who are unregistered. Postal Service and death records from the Social Security Administration.

The catastrophe was compounded by the failure to plan for what came next. Iraqis watched as power stations and national treasures were looted, while American troops guarded the oil ministry and Donald Rumsfeld, the defense secretary, glibly dismissed the turmoil: “Freedom´s untidy.” The security vacuum and de-Ba´athification strategy fomented sectarianism not only in Iraq itself, but far beyond its borders – and fueled terrorism that has proved not only most deadly in the region, but has taken lives in the west, too. Later decisions such as support for Nouri al-Maliki made matters worse.

In the key northeastern region of Adamawa — which could see the election of Nigeria’s first woman governor — the results were declared “inconclusive” as the number of voters unable to cast their ballot was greater than the margin between the two fro

White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre piled on by claiming Moderna´s price hike is “hard to justify” even as Biden officials hail the benefits of Covid vaccines and boosters. If they are as effective as public-health officials say, then the benefits from reducing hospitalizations among the elderly would more than exceed the new higher price.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) sanctioned Russia and Belarus after Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 but is now reluctant to exclude their athletes from the Olympics entirely for fear of a return to the boycotts of the Cold War era.

“While the IOC has made no final decisions yet, we strongly urge it to reconsider its plans and return to the original well-proven stance supported by the international community,” the Polish statement said.

According to the results from Saturday’s vote declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), APC won the governorship in 15 states — Lagos, Sokoto, Katsina, Jigawa, Gombe, Kwara, Niger, Yobe, Nasarawa, Cross River, Ebonyi, Ogun, Benue, Kaduna
